Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run

Back for its 14th year, The Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run and Party (MMR) will be bigger and better than ever this year. We are excited to announce that the event has a new home! MMR will now take place at Seaholm. The race will begin along Walter Seaholm Drive and follow the former race course, but in reverse. The Finisher Party will take place at Sand Beach Park and the Post-Race Party will take place on the Great Lawn in front of the former Seaholm Power Plant.

The Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run and Party began in 2004 to bring two of Austin’s favorite things together – running and margaritas! This event has served as The Trail Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser and this year will be no exception! Please mark your calendars for Thursday, June 8th! Unlike other major fundraisers in Austin, this event allows ladies to trade the little black dress and heels for shorts and running shoes while gentlemen can leave their ties at home. While the attire is casual, the event raises critically needed funds for Austin’s beloved Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail. Over the years, there have been many wonderful local sponsors as well as dedicated participants who have come out to support the work of TTF. The Trail Foundation wouldn’t be able to complete these projects without the help of Austin’s loyal supporters. No other event in town is more fun!

Starting at 8:00pm runners depart on a 5K course traveling along the streets bordering Lady Bird Lake. Those attending the post-race party (a separate event within an event) will enjoy margaritas and catered dinner with Maudie’s Tex-Mex under the stars and the lights of downtown Austin. To finish the night, post-race party attendees dance and mingle to live music.

FAQS


1. Can I bring my dog to the race?
Don’t get us wrong, we love dogs. Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run isn’t on the trail so we worry about the heat on puppy dog’s feet! We do not recommend bringing your four legged friend with you. It’s just too hot.

2. Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, no. The Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run is The Trail Foundation’s major annual fundraiser, and a rain or shine event. We are simply unable to offer refunds due to schedule changes, weather, cancellations, etc. We clearly state on the registration site that there are no refunds.

5. Can I switch my shirt out at packet pick up?
We strongly encourage you to use the sizing chart that is on the registration website to choose the right shirt at registration. If we have shirts available after the race, we are happy to switch out your shirt size at that time, not before.

6. Can anyone under 21 participate?
Of course, but only those 21 and over are able to attend the Finish Line Party (‘run only’ option at registration) or the Post Race Party

7. Can I bring my child to the post race party?
Unfortunately, this is a 21 and over event.

8. Where do I park?

9. Will there be taxi’s available after the party?
Yes.

10. Does everyone get a margarita, even if you don’t go to the party?
Yes. All 21+ runners are greeted at the finish line with a margarita!

11. How do I get information on volunteering for the race?
Please contact Beth Carroll at beth@thetrailfoundation.org.

12. If I am unable to attend the race, can I transfer my registration to a friend?
Unfortunately, no. We clearly state on the registration site that there are no transfers.

13. Are strollers allowed at the race?
Yes! We ask that anyone with a stroller stay towards the back for a smoother race experience, for you and your little one.

14. Can I consolidate mailed packets?
This year, there is a $10 option for mailing packets. Unfortunately, the packets are pre-weighed to contain one shirt and one bib. We cannot consolidate multiple packets for one address.
